Users and Security

Speck's roles-based security allows users to be given one or more roles in the management of an application. Roles are defined in files with a "roles" extension in Speck's security configuration directory. There are a number of reserved roles in Speck, which are used to give users and/or groups (aka accessors) roles in the management of an application. Users and groups are defined in the files with "users" and "groups" file extensions in the security configuration directory.

Although the default behaviour is to have separate roles, groups and users files for each application, this is not a requirement. In fact, multiple applications can share a single security zone and applications can authenticate users from more than one security zone. See the securityZones application configuration setting for more info.
